INTERGRATED SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT, RISK AND QUALITY POLICY: |

We recognise our responsibility to manage safety, health, environment, risks and quality (SHERQ) aspects in a responsible manner, which includes identifying, addressing and appropriately managing any risks thay may affect:

- the safety and well-being of our employees and community,
- our financial stability, and
- our ability to achieve our vision and mission of providing products and services to our customers and to our community.

We are committed to the maintenance and enhancement of our Integrated Management System that complies with and/or is based on nationally and internationally recognised standards, for SHERQ systems, namely ISO 9000, ISO 14000 and OSHA of 1993.
We clearly understand the vital role played by SHERQ in supporting the vision and mission of PFG Building Glass. Therefore, we will ensure that the Management System, its spirit and its intent is communicated, implemented and maintained throughout all areas of our business. The Management System will be managed, creating an environment that fosters excellence, sustains growth and empowers employee involvement at all levels within the company. This will lead to the ongoing benefit of our internal and external customers and stakeholders.
To achieve this, we will secure: |
- Legal compliance:
Meet all safety, health, environmental and regulatory requirements, and develop our own standards where applicable.
- Performance
Be proactive in investigating SHERQ incidents in order to improve our performance, including the prevention of pollution, reduction of waste and effluent, promotion of recycling, saving of energy, reduction of incidents and continual improvement of safety, environmental and quality standards. Promote the protection and remediation of the natural environment and resources where appropriate.
- Management
Handle safety, health, environment and quality management as part of our daily business management systems. Develop and implement written SHERQ policies and procedures.
- Audits
Monitor, audit and report on SHERQ performance with the intention of continuous improvement of the Systems. Investigate safety, health, environmental and quality incidents, and take preventative steps where possible.
- Operations
Adopt he best available and affordable technology to limit safety, health and environmental and quality related incidents. Provide free protective clothing, equipment and health facilities to employees, as far as is reasonably possible. Do each task right first time. Work smarter at all times.
- Training
As far as possible train every employee to be interested in and aware of safety, health, environmental risks and quality issues. Provide guidance to employees on safety and health at home.
- Communication
Ensure that requirements in respect of product quality and services are agree upon and conformed to, in conjunction with customers and suppliers. Liaise with authorities on pollution-related emergencies and incidents, and secure the support of acknowledged control authorities. Maintain open relations with relevant internal and external concerned parties including customers, contractors and employees, and promote their awareness of PFG's policies to improve performance.
